A Vision Of Love

Is what I would note

No matter the struggle

Or the effort endured

This was one experience

That did not draw near

Living our life

Day by day

Not looking for anyone

With whom to play

Satisfied with

Our regular routine

Really thinking we know

What Life means

Finally some peace

Has come at last

After having come

To terms with the past

Then all of a sudden

A person shows up

Totally unexpected

Messing with our stuff

Feelings arise

That were buried so deep

Urging us on

To take a leap

Suddenly we are blown away

Totally unsure what to say

Frightened by feelings we have never felt

Looking for confirmation

As we scream for help

Relating to someone who really cares

Who opens their heart

And is willing to share

Being accepted for who you really are

Is so different than what has transpired so far

Eventually a quiet assurance

Sets in

Feeling some confidence

From deep within

Still thinking things

Are too good to be true

So much has happened

It’s hard to construe

Wanting to slow down

To integrate our stuff

Things happening so fast

Enough is enough

Being given space

In a loving way

Means so much more

Than we can say

Mutual respect

Comes to the front

No walking on eggshells

Or needing to pretend what we want

Disappointments do occur

Along the way

But there’s no freaking out

Or expectations as to what to say

Our happiness really does

Rest in our lap

We value ourselves

Clearing the path

Our preferences show up

But don’t run our life

This is the key

To ending all strife

Pursuing our goals

In our unique ways

Being supported

To put our talents on display

The relationship now

Takes on a Life of its own

Like a runaway vehicle

We let go in the zone

Two independent Souls

Sharing a trip

No taking for granted

Our special gift

Caring for each other

As unconditionally as we know how

Looking into each other’s eyes

Finding solace somehow

A Vision of Love

Has become real

A Blueprint of the Heart

It seems so surreal

So fortunate and grateful

To have met

A person like you

Our Vision of Love

Is about to come True.
