Peace of Mind

Peace of Mind at times Seems such a distance away When we are caught in a rut With our fears on display How many things Do we do each day To mess our lives up Consciously or unconsciously It’s the same result Taking for granted All we are told No matter what expert On whom we are sold Is a recipe for losing So much of our heart Because misinformation Has a way of tearing us apart Feeding ourselves On advertised fads Will do us no good But make the advertiser glad Things are not what they seem In any area of life Pretending to offer goodness And only delivering strife Being observant In so many ways Is exactly what it takes To push the nonsense away Very few books And authorities too Are willing to give us An accurate view Digging and scrapping Trying to find clues Or any bits of data That we can use It’s an endless process That we pursue Looking for something Out of the blue Then it dawns on us A revelation it seems That looking outside for answers Is only a dream Intuitive promptings Suddenly appear Pointing inside Eliminating despair Looking within Seems such a novel idea But we soon realize It’s the only thing that is real Sourcing the wisdom That was always there Seems much more simple With a lot less fear Depriving ourselves Of our true inner gold Must cease immediately For us to unfold True peace of mind Is just a moment from here No need to worry Things will become clear Feeding ourselves On worthwhile endeavors Speeds up the process And is the perfect lever So peace and tranquility Joy and happiness too Are available to all And "not" too good to be true.
