Media Manipulation

This is about how we are consciously and unconsciously affected by media messages. They are like viruses run wild that cause us to restrict our viewpoints without our knowledge or approval. Becoming aware of the degree to which we have all been programmed, allows us to question its validity and usefulness.

There Is No Escape

Even though we may resist and think we are immune, the constant bombardment of commercials, billboards, catalogues, and other product placements address what we crave the most, and zero in on our vulnerability. This type of emotional trigger will shut down our ability to question and assess, and leave us open to manufactured desire.

Early Intervention

This type of desire does not lead to any long term satisfaction. Instead it helps create problem children who acquire an endless need for more and more consumption. An early intervention program is necessary to become aware where we are most susceptible to manipulation. Check out Eldon Taylor’s website for additional enlightening information.

In order to create a liberated life we must spend the time becoming aware of what prompts us to crave. Observe what ads or programs initiate this craving, don’t judge yourself, and notice what happens. The craving may recede or it may increase. That doesn’t matter. The act of giving it free rein will undo its hold on you, and you will be able to determine why you want what you want, and realize that love is not a commodity.
