Integrated Program: Question?
An integrated program begins with recognizing where your child is right at this moment. How can I best integrate all the information on your site so as to best help my children? To create an integrated program begin from where you child is right this moment. If your child has a defiance issue, start there. You will find several pages devoted to behavior management in the Manage section of this website. Also the Defiance Email Series has a number of lessons that address behavior issues. If you require professional assistance, research the traditional methods of therapy in the Manage section, as well as the alternative modalities under the Heal section. Also check out Dr. Gibson’s program for dealing with angry kids. This should give you a good start toward addressing whatever challenges you have. If you need further assistance or clarification on any of this information, please drop me an email, and I will advise. This website is a work in progress, and as I continue to add content, I will provide a more specific roadmap with additional resources, products and services. Once a good foundation is put in place with good behavior management, then time can be spent on the transformation phase. You many want to use kids charts to monitor your child’s progress over time. As you chart their behavior, you will notice an interesting trend. You will most likely see an increase in negative behavior initially when first making changes to your child's routine, but over time, by being consistent, the behavior will level off, and then improve. That’s when you can spend time exploring the transformation phase. We all have scotomos or blind spots in our perception. Based on our experiences and the beliefs we have formed about life, ourselves, others and the world, we are selective in the information that we let into our awareness. This has a detrimental effect when it blocks us from attaining our desired goals, and living a full, self expressive life. Transformation in relation to child behavior is all about a child becoming aware of, and embracing their unique talents and abilities. They then live each day from a creative base of empowerment. They no longer buy into the “Victim Game”, but take responsibility for their life. They trust their intuition and inner voice, and as a result make good decisions and choices. Peer pressure has much less an effect on them. An integrated program leads step by step to a life of true joy and bliss. Much of the work is in letting go of false ideas and beliefs, and then forming new habit patterns. These new habits have their physical counterpart in our brains with the formation of new neural pathways. Little by little we become the person we were meant to be. The writer Ken Keyes had this to say: “A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a hostile world. Everyone you meet is your mirror.”
