Inner Purpose
One’s inner purpose far exceeds the striving and effort of going after one’s outer purpose. When focused on our inner purpose, we enjoy and concentrate on each individual step without worrying about the outcome. Consequently, we then effortlessly achieve our specific target, or we discover that this goal was not what we really wanted, or was not in our best interest. If the process isn’t any fun, don’t do it.Being able to be totally centered in the present moment, with whatever you are doing, is the key to accomplishment and fulfillment. No matter what distractions occur, stay focused and enjoy each step. Take a break if necessary, and then come back to your endeavor. How Are Things This Moment? The quality of the time spent on whatever you are doing far exceeds any destination or reward to be gained. All that stuff falls into place, once you appreciate and maximize the essence of what you are doing right here and now. Your true purpose is within, and bringing that purpose to reality by focusing on the present, is what deepens your awareness of your essential talents and abilities. Your outer journey may involve thousands of individual actions, while your inner travels only require your attention on one simple step: what you are doing right now. Your Point Of Power Your point of power is right here in present time. No need to go searching frantically around to discover something that has always been here. Just as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz did not realize she possessed all the power she needed in those ruby slippers which she was wearing, we are also blind to all the power that we have right now, because of our lack of focus on the present, and spending so much wasted energy tripping and angonizing about the past and future. The best parent training possible is to become aware of the importance of our own inner purpose, and then model that for our children. The best teen contract we can create with our kids is a commitment on their part to follow their passions, and get in touch with their abilities and talents that are crying out for expression.
