Blind Spots

Blind spots are prevalent In everyone’s life They are so insidious That they disguise their might Day to day challenges always occur But we are so conditioned to see them As if manifesting out of thin air ”It can’t be our fault” We are so quick to say And blaming the stars Seems to be the only way Hardship and strife May be dominating our life As we continue to bear All of this guilt and fear Caught in a vicious circle Of loss and despair Unable to see options That are most definitely there Things seem so real In our imaginary life That we refuse to believe The real cause of our strife Blind spots or scotomas As they are formally termed Create a type of hypnosis From which it seems quite impossible to learn Taking for granted All that we view Keeps us confined Unable to construe Trying to force Our way out of this Only frustrates us more No matter how much we insist Helpful ideas May suddenly appear But only when alert Do we see beyond the blur Limiting beliefs And erroneous ones too Are at the core of the problem Leaving us without a clue Recognizing our dilemma Is the first simple step To seeing what’s there While releasing our fear Don’t hesitate now When you have come this far Falling back to sleep Will only frustrate and scar Yes, there is a hypnotic matrix Surrounding us all But through persistence and diligence The illusionary walls will fall There is most definitely sunshine Ready to break through Little by little We will expand our view Knowing is one thing Understanding more true But wisdom will come As our thoughts renew Questioning ourselves And authorities too Will most definitely reveal A more accurate view So how do we proceed With our freedom so near Eliminating this blindness And releasing our fear Confronting our issues And challenges now Will enlighten our life Keeping us focused somehow So we must never despair When things seem unclear Because expanding our vision Will make our blindness disappear.
